On Tuesday, August 11, 2009, we made the trip to
West Friendship, Maryland for the Cleveland Bay Hunter Show offered
at the Howard County Fair. We took Epiphanbay
Hamilton and Epiphanybay Celebration, both being entered in the Cleveland
Bay Partbred In-Hand class. We are grateful to our friend,
A. Hayden, for again handling Epiphanybay Celebration.
The arena was right next to the Interstate
Highway, as can be seen in two of the photos. Neither, boy
was concerned about the traffic. Each seemed to take the
activities at the show grounds in stride, including the ponies
and horses with riders. Both of these worried the boys
when they were shown at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in June,
which was their first show.
We are quite proud of Epiphanybay Hamilton for his placing
in the class, second out of 10 horses. Epiphanybay Celebration has
a visible scar with no hair over it on his right front leg.
The scar is a blemish only which does not affect his movement.
Horses with blemishes do not place or place lower in an In-Hand
class, which is why we feel that Epiphanybay Celebration did not place at
Howard County or at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show. Both boys have lovely ground
covering movement and good conformation.
