On Sunday, September 6, 2009, we traveled to
Warrenton, Virginia for the Cleveland Bay Hunter Show offered at
the Warrenton Horse Show Grounds. We took our two yearling
Cleveland Bay Horse x Thoroughbred geldings, Epiphanybay
Hamilton and Epiphanybay Celebration, both being entered in the
Cleveland Bay Partbred In-Hand class. We are grateful to
our friend, A. Hayden, for again handling Epiphanybay
Celebration.
This was the third horse show for "the boys" and
both seemed to have become more accustomed to the hustle and
bustle of a horse show. Everything went well, with
Hamilton seeming especially relaxed. We are quite proud of
Epiphanybay Hamilton who placed sixth and Epiphanybay
Celebration who placed seventh. There were eight horses in
the class. This was the first ribbon and placing for
Epiphanybay Celebration, as well as, the receipt of compliments
on his movement from a fellow Cleveland Bay Horse breeder and
folks at ringside. We are glad that his scar did not keep
him out of the ribbons at this show as it has in the past.
Epiphanybay Celebration has a visible scar with
no hair over it on his right front leg. The scar is a
blemish only which does not affect his movement. Horses
with blemishes do not place or place lower in an In-Hand class,
which is why we feel that EB Celebration did not place at Howard
County or at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show.
We look forward to the 2010 show season and the
Mid-Atlantic Cleveland Bay Show Series.
