Pedigree
Lady Leone has recently been started under saddle, well,
bareback pad to be exact. She is a sound, kind
mare who was not the least bit concerned when Delaney sat
astride her for the first time. She has been backed four
times before the winter set in. Once the ground conditions
permit, she will continue with her training under saddle. Our plans for her, as a broodmare, did not work out
as we had hoped and she is being offered for sale. She is
a dark bay, especially in winter and in the spring and summer
she has the most amazing dapples.
Her sire, Wheelgates Lord Charles
(deceased) was a dressage horse who was trained to the fourth
level. She has a half-brother in California, by the same
stallion, who received Third Place in the Cleveland Bay Horse
Society of North America's 2009 Performance Award for the
category, Dressage 2nd Level and Below. In 2010, this same
horse and rider combination received their USDF Bronze Medal. There is an
article in the April 2010 issue of BayWatch about Wheelgates
Lord Charles by his owner which is quite good. In this
same issue of BayWatch there is a picture of her half-brother,
King's British Knight in the Performance Awards Section.
